What is Sealcoating?
Sealcoating is inexpensive way to maintain your asphalt. Here at Pro-Tek, We use an asphalt emulsion which is a mixture of asphalt, water and a small amount of an emulsifying agent. Asphalt emulsions are an environmentally friendly, energy efficient and cost effective product for use in today’s paving and preservation efforts.
To begin the sealing process we will first clean your driveway of debris like leaves and dirt. After it’s cleaned we will inspect the entirety of the asphalt for cracks, pockmarks, and other damage that could compromise your seal. Once small-scale cracks and other issues are knocked out its time for the asphalt emulsion.
The sealer is then spray applied and the mixture is coated evenly and allowed to dry for a few hours. After the emulsion dries, you’ll have a gorgeous and strong blacktop that’s better equipped to handle the elements.

Why is it important to repair asphalt cracks?
It's important to repair asphalt cracks to keep water out and prevent erosion of the paving base. Hot rubber filling is the best way to achieve this. The asphalt cracks are blown clean and then filled with hot rubber sealant. The excess is then leveled off leaving rubber a few inches on each side of the crack. We repair asphalt cracks with a hot rubber sealant that is designed to penetrate cracks deep filling them completely and actually bonding to the sides of the asphalt preventing future damage.
